Ray C. Sprosty founded the Sprosty Bag
Company in the 1930’s on Madison Avenue
in Wooster, by reconditioning used burlap
and cloth bags
Sprosty Bag company was officially
incorporated in 1947 in Wooster, Ohio on
Oil City Rd.
Ray C. Sprosty Jr. moved The Sprosty Bag Company to downtown Wooster on Liberty St in 1948, where they printed multi-wall paper bags and woven plastic bags for feed, seed and potatoes.
Ray C. Sprosty III (Chuck) moved the business in 2011 to the 21,000 sq ft facility in Smithville, OH, where it is located today. The increased space allowed the company to expand their printing business by four new 4-color presses and increase warehousing.
Sprosty Bag expanded to multiple warehouse locations. We diversified from agricultural applications to other industries including retail, produce, CPG, restaurants, construction and chemicals. We expanded from printing to supplying other flexible packaging materials to both domestic and international customers.
